Chris has a growing civil practice with an emphasis on personal injury work including employers', public and occupiers’ liability claims and all aspects of road traffic litigation to include, fraud, credit hire and LVI matters.
Chris also accepts instructions in a wide range of civil claims to include boundary and building disputes and contract cases. He has a particular interest in housing matters to include private and public landlord/tenant possession claims and mortgage possession cases.
The majority of his work is of fast track level although he has increasing experience of multi-track cases at an interlocutory stage and was recently instructed in a brain injury case that settled for £200,000.
Chris accepts work on a CFA basis and represents both Claimants and Defendants. He consistently turns papers around within 2 weeks and is happy to work within tighter timeframes when required to.
Having previously worked as a Costs Draftsman both externally and within the in-house costs team of a national personal injury firm Chris is able to advise on costs matters, draft bills of costs, prepare points of dispute and represent parties at detailed assessment hearings.
Chris has a wide experience of prosecuting and defending in both the Crown and Magistrates' Courts.
Chris has been involved in cases involving the supply of Class A drugs, burglary, robbery, serious assaults, serious public order offences, domestic violence and sexual offences.
He also regularly undertakes private prosecutions for a number of government agencies including Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs and the Department of Work and Pensions.
