The Criminal Law Practice Group of St Johns Buildings is now comprised of more than 100 junior counsel and 6 Queens Counsel, operating nationally out of Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Chester and Preston. The range of expertise and wealth of experience at your disposal is, in our view, unrivalled in the North of England. We aim to provide not only an efficient service underpinned by the use of modern business standards but also a service which has the flexibility to meet client demands which are diverse and challenging.

Members of our Criminal Law Practice Group regularly appear in some of the most serious and complex cases in the Crown Court acting for both the CPS and HM Revenue and Customs as well as undertaking similarly high profile defence work.

We also offer expertise in the prosecution and defence of Regulatory Offences. As a result of the considerable range of experience present in our team we are able to provide the same level of service for Magistrates Court work, again both defending and prosecuting.

We consider that a prompt, efficient but equally accessible service represents the cornerstone of what we aim to provide. Whether the case is being heard in the Court of Appeal, Crown Court or the Magistrates Court all members of the team will provide a high standard of advocacy coupled with a friendly efficient service.

We have an extremely high standard of conferencing facilities within Chambers, including telephone and video-conferencing facilities and, where the need arises, we are happy to travel to the offices of those instructing us for conferences.
